Verse of Vengeance Guide
An overview of the Verse of Vengeance world event introduced with the season Y1S2 - Chorus of Havoc were the player faces of Armand Hubac and his reinforcements of the Chorus Fleet.
General
This world event features the boss fight against Armand Hubac himself with his rank 14 Chorus Fleet elite warship. The main reward being the Black Aria Chest including several cosmetic ship pieces.
The Compagnie has dispatched Armand of the Hubac Twins to consolidate their control over the Indian Ocean.
Be warned -- the firebrand will not go down easily.
Lore
Known as the Sword of the Compagnie, the older twin Armand is fiery, impulsive and fiercely protective of his brother. It was Armand's temper that led to driving a knife into the performer in front of the King of France and led to their exile.
He is driven by a desire to impose the Hubacs' will on their enemies and maintain strict discipline within the Chorus Fleet. Unlike Bertrand's calculated approach, Armand's methods are direct and often irrational, focused solely on crushing opposition through sheer force and dominance.
Armand captains the Black Aria, and in line with his personality, he likes to close on his enemies dazzling them with fireworks and pyrotechnics until he can unload a finishing barrage.

Approach
This encounter is quite similar to the Verse of Remorse event and its fight against Bertrand Hubac in regards to movement, attacks and the ship. This makes things easier as similar strategies and ship loadouts, which follow below, can be used.
Location
The fight takes always place at the same spot on the map, in the open seas north of Three Brothers Outpost. For this it can be helpful to use a medium ship with a higher deck like the or then a to be able to shot more often with high waves. More on this later at the Recommended Loadouts section.
Attacks and Pattern
While not unique to him, but also to his brother, for the following attacks an eye should be kept open:
1. Homing Torpedos
Its regular attack features salvos of homing torpedos, similar to the torpedo the player has access to. While only doing moderate damage the amount of torpedos quickly builds up the Flooding status effect and once applied will deal additional severe damage. Escaping a torpedo is not a viable option as they have a very long range and can also take sharp turns to target a player. Sailing directly towards them can help to only take some torpedos and not the whole salvo, however this is not a strategy to survive the fight.
In addition are these torpedos armed after a short distance, indicated by a glowing red/blue light.
2. Firework Rockets
This cool loocking attack, similar to a small firework show, is the secondary attack of Armand besides his torpedos and can hurt the own ship significantly if not braced.
It is fired in salvos directly in the direction of the player with a high range, however the spread of the individual shots get wider with increased distance.
Firework Attack
There is also a 360° version of this attack, dealing most damage close to him and less with increased distance due to the high spread of the rockets.
360° Firework Attack
3. Turret Buoys
Multiple of these rank 14 Turret Buoys get deployed from time to time and feature a somewhat similar attack to 2., but with only a single salvo of rockets fired at an high interval against a players ship.
Depending on the own ship rank they deal only small amount of damage if braced, but when the rank difference is 2 or 3 ranks they should be kept in mind and cleared. As multiple of them are deployed at once and can also stay for some time of the fight if not taken down by the player.

4. Reinforcements
Over the duration of the fight will several waves of rank 12 reinforcements be called in to assist Armand in his fight. A wave typically consists of 3 ships with one repair ship, indicated by cargo attached to the hull and black sails and two damage dealing ships, indicated by a white flag and sails.
They have a small health pool and do moderate amount of damage. The torpedos used by the ships are not homing, compared to the ones Armand uses.
Reinforcements Approaching
Even though there are different attacks, the fight can mostly be summarized to focus on this: Target the Weakpoints or Bow/Aft
Bow/Aft
With the sides of his ship being well armored attacking them, when they are not expanded, won't do much damage. Instead focus in this time on his bow or aft as those aren't additionally armored and normal damage can be dealt. The aft is recommended here as it offers protection from fired torpedos and has no chance of inflicting ramming damage to the own ship.
Weakpoints
When the side shields get expanded it's time to attack with everything in the own ship's arsenal as they offer huge hitboxes and allow to deal great damage in a quick time. I would recommend focussing on one shield at a time to fully destroy them, which is visually indicated and they are not red marked as weakpoint anymore, to inflict additional damage in a short time. Piercing weapons excell here especially due to their natively increased weakpoint damage per hit, but demicannons can also work great when sticking close to the ship is the preferred fighting style.
Recommended Loadouts
For this and the other two encounters Verse of Remorse and Chorus of Havoc similar loadouts can be used, however the rank difference and group size should be kept in mind.
There are several options to approach this fight, one would be a pure dps loadout, like the , which will likely finish the fight quickly, but not without a death:
A tank/dps loadout with the like the Chorus Silencer build or one with the :
Or an dps/self-repair build with the :
The possible weapon and furniture options are plentiful, but for the armor the is recommended to support in absorbing the masses of torpedos.
After defeating Armand you will get several items including a Treasure Map (Very Old) and the Black Aria Chest.
