Enter S5, World Tier 2, weapon ascension, just a whole lot new stuff going on. Ascension has a re-roll limit, you could get lucky or you could not and ruin the weapon. As such it is best right now to use weapons that are always available and do not require seasonal items to make should you fail the ascension, and that is what this build is about.
-Scurlock Long 9 serves two roles: it is the ONLY long gun in the game with piercing3, and it has MastBreaker, aka deal 7k dmg on torn sails status effect. So you can keep the distance and hit the sails and deal acceptable damage, or go for the weak spots on the hull, up to you.
Suggested ascension path: piercing damage%,piercing damage%,sail dmg%.
-Basilisk3 are just a solid option, they have always been but more so now, we have them in the back to deal with small ships + the rear of the brig has 4 gun ports.
Suggested ascension path: piercing damage%,optional choice, deathblow.
-Healing grace3 is the REAL champ here, it will save you and your team mates. Hull perk will amplify its healing effect.
Suggested ascension path: heal%,severe heal, and last one is up to you, they are all good, but i use the one that gives dmg buff.
Furniture is kinda self explaining, but you may wonder why debris locker instead of langrage barrels and that's cuz i see more players are using flooding weapons so you might as well support them by reducing the charge rate of flooding after sails has been torn, this is after all a support build.
Armor can be replaced with nocturne heart or buccaneers oath, but i just like the option of having that death protection since WT2 is very "unpredictable" right now.
Brig itself reduces the aux reload time of you and nearby ships, so that is a nice boon too. You can use this ship solo, but time to kill may be on the longer side, you will at least not have to worry about staying alive in WT2.
