Strengths

Loadout

Everything you need for an extremely agressive style. The key here is to alternate between broadside and crew attacks to maintain continuous DPS and exploit the insane sustain that comes with it.
While it's very viable in any PvE situation -except for bosses that are very tanky or immune against crew attacks- its true specialization relies on merchant convoys plunder, in which a single broadside is enough to build up a crew attack. Additionnaly, I looked for as much consistency and synergy as possible, explaining the strong focus on piercing as secondary dammages sources.
I recommend to operate as follow:
- Convoys are greatly aligned: Start by behind (or front) to exploit the 10 Suns (see FAQ below).
- Ram on your first merchant ship target to do what the Brigantine does best.
- Once you're side by side with your target, nothing more than broadside/crew attack loop, again and again:
- The Scrapper Station is what assure your sustainability over time: unless you're exposed to severe dammages, you can tank anything if doing things well, allowing you to completely ignore the escort (you can also "heal on it")
- The Lotus armor allows your next broaside to hit even harder after a crew attack.
FAQ:
Why the Brigantine ?
While the Brigantine relies more on flooding dammage that is unfortunately not optimized here, the consideration comes from the required mobility that comes with close range combat.
Why the 10 Suns ?
Just give it a try on an aligned ship formation. Definitely shines. Alternatively, Nashkaar or Long Nines are very viable. Same applies for rear weapons: Dahaka by default fits well.
Why Basilisk ?
Simple: one of highest DPS among culverins, coupled with crew attack. Similar build on Sambuk with Zanzama to consider.
Why not Signal Gong ?
Definitely an option. You'd deal even more insane DPS, at the cost of the sustaining opportunity.
Why not Pishacha ?
The ramming maneuvers is at the cost of maintaining the broadside/crew attack range.
